So, it’s taken us a few days to recover enough to post about Googa Mooga, the music / food festival that we attended on Sunday (we spent Saturday working on hopara). We blame the copious amounts of artisinal beer that we drank (urp) and the several-day hangover that ensued from stopping us from writing, and from working productively.
We’ve noticed lots of other tumblrs talking about Googa Mooga, so we’re going to keep our comments brief:
1) It’s been a really long time since we were young enough to hang out at a festival all day… think Phish, circa 1994, and that was probably our moment.
2) We were really psyched to see Hall & Oates back together (until we saw them back together and realized that their voices were shot - but don’t worry, we still love your classics!).
3) We always love watching Fitz and the Tantrums, although seeing them at a festival is a whole different vibe from the New Years Eve show we caught them at this year.
4) We did our best to try any food we could, planning our way through the lines (worth the 2 hour wait - Luke’s Lobster Rolls and the Arancini Brothers), and we were shocked that we could walk up to some of our local favorites, such as M. Well’s grilled cheese, without a line. Our favorite hidden gem was the Mille Feuille Bakery’s excellent macaroons; if you didn’t get any of these, we apologize. It’s our fault, since we bought about 20 of them after tasting one. We can’t help it — we just really, really love macaroons! What were your favorites from the day?
Our shots of The Great Googa Mooga weren’t as good as this one from helencho
